Simona Halep may have divorced because of Mouratoglou, per Romanian tabloid

halep and coach

According to Romanian tabloid Cancan, Simona Halep’s coach may have contributed to the Wimbledon champion’s decision to get divorced from her husband Toni Iuruc. Firstly, Cancan claims that since Simona Halep signed the contract with Patrick Mouratoglou (April 7, 2022), her husband Toni Iuruc has not attended any of the former Wimbledon champion’s matches.

Secondly, the Romanian tabloid argues that at Roland Garros, which was a “disaster” because Halep lost in the 2nd round to a mediocre Chinese woman, Patrick Mouratoglou then posted a message in which he took the blame.

Surprisingly (per Cancan’s words) Simona Halep defended the coach and fired manager Virginia Ruzici. The third reason why Mouratoglou would be to blame for the divorce is that after her Roland Garros campaign, Simona Halep signed a management contract with a Swede, Nina Wennerstrom, Mouratoglou’s best collaborator (former tennis player, Wennerstrom is the most influential woman in Scandinavian sports).

Moreover, according to Cancan, even though Simona trained in several stages at Mouratoglou’s academy on the Côte d’Azur (Biot, 15 km from Nice), Toni Iuruc was never with Simona Halep in those training sessions.

Last but not the least, Simona Halep left for the United States at the beginning of August without Toni Iuruc. The husband of the champion arrived in New York for a few days before the US Open and only after Simona Halep abandoned in Cincinnati (two days after she had won the title in Toronto
